GameAnalytics plugin – analytics for mobile games
Corona Labs is pleased to announce the availability of a new GameAnalytics plugin to help you track events in your mobile game, add context to those events, and better understand user behavior. Created as a free service “by game developers for game developers,” the GameAnalytics team understands the type of important events that you need to capture and the best way to track them.
This popular mobile-first game analytics service lets you collect metrics using a variety of new custom event types like Progression, Resource, Business, and Design. Custom events can be used to track player progression, spot sticking points, and optimize gameplay so players can reach their moment of joy faster. In-game economy and virtual goods can also be measured to help you understand when you may be giving out too many rewards.
GameAnalytics offers pre-set dashboards for each event type and you can add customized widgets to your dashboard using a drag-and-drop query builder. Perhaps best of all, it’s 100% free!
To get started with GameAnalytics, create a GameAnalytics account and activate the plugin in the Corona Marketplace. Then, follow the GameAnalytics documentation to get your Corona app set up to track events in real time.
Note that this new plugin effectively replaces the previous, now-deprecated version of GameAnalytics. The previous version will eventually be removed from our servers entirely, so any developer who is using the older version is highly encouraged to update to this new plugin as soon as possible.
