Corona Geek #30 – App Store Optimization with AppCodes

Corona Geek #30 – App Store Optimization with AppCodes

This week we discussed app store optimization with Mo Bennouf, developer of Space Missile Command and Tomasz Kolinko, Lead Developer of AppCod.es. Mo has worked very hard on his game and he has a lot to be proud of. So, he is experimenting with ASO to make sure his app ranks highly. To help us out, Tomasz explained some of the important things app developers need to consider when listing apps in the Apple App Store. He also shared how AppCod.es helps simplify the ASO process. Also joining us on the developer panel was Ed MaurinaGerald Bailey, and Matthew Chapman.

Be sure to listen in on the full hangout for more details.

Corona Labs T-Shirt Winner

This week’s t-shirt winner was Rahul Kadwe. Rahul followed Corona Geek on social media and then completed the Corona Geek giveaway registration form for a chance to win a Corona Labs t-shirt. It’s that simple.

That’s all folks

That’s it for this week! Thank you for watching, listening, and supporting the show and we’ll see you on next week’s Corona Geek hangout.

Audio was breaking a little at end when Mo was talking something about “…Facebook Corona App Review…on Corona Forum…” Quick search didn’t turn up anything. If convenient, please add specific links or details.

Yes I appologize, it was my laptop. I should have had a microphone!

I was talking about a Facebook review group that was setup last year to help provide app reviews to each other. As you know you need at least 5 reviews every time you launch an app or update your app. Once you join the group, you can post your app link and most of the time you will get those 5 reviews pretty quickly. Considere that a little boost. Obviously the members expect that you will return the favor when asked. Still those reviews need to be fair. If you think the app is worth 3 stars or less then the best thing to do is to contact the developer directly and provide some direct feedback. We can do, ios, Android, nook and kindle so you should not have any issues no matter the app market. We have around 220 members but we love to have more!

Early last year, I noticed that most apps on the showcase were launching with little or no reviews. I thought it was crazy since the Coronalabs community is so large. That is why I posted the following back then. Just follow the link on the first post and ask to join. Very easy!

Hi Michael. Not this time. However AppCodes does have a demo account where you can see the features of the service before committing to the service.
